From Australia to Portugal: how this project began
It started far from here, in Australia, with a simple idea: take what the land gives us and turn it into something practical, reliable, and sustainable. Those first trials were all about learning—how the crop behaves, what the seasons demand, and what it really takes to build something that can work beyond a single field.
Later, the project moved to Portugal. Different climate, different soils, different pressures—but the same goal.
Step by step, we adapted what we learned and kept pushing forward. The photos in this post capture that progression: the work on the ground, the growth stages, and the moments that remind us why we started.
Now we’re taking the next step: building a pellets project. The aim is to create real value from biomass—something consistent, usable, and scalable.
It hasn’t been easy. One of our biggest challenges is weed management. It takes time, effort, and constant attention, and it’s still one of the main obstacles we’re working through.
But the results are encouraging. The yield is great, and the protein content is around 16%, which gives us confidence that we’re on the right track—and that this project has a strong future ahead.
